Announces various health, road and education projects for Constituency

The State government would spend Rs. 110 crore on different schemes of the Public Works Department in Jaswan-Pragpur assembly constituency of Kangra district during current financial year and a new industrial area would be developed at Channaur. This was stated by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while addressing a massive public meeting at Pragpur in district Kangra today.

The Chief Minister said that the State government had set a target of 100 days on the day one of assuming office and started working with commitment in this direction. He said that in the very first meeting of the cabinet the present Government reduced age for availing social security pension for the senior citizens without income limit from 80 years to 70 years. He said this has benefitted 1.30 lakh old people and has resulted into financial burden of Rs 200 crore on the State exchequer. He said that the first budget presented by the State Government not only has 30 new schemes, but adequate provisions have been made in the budget for all these schemes. He said that these initiatives of the State Government were even appreciated by the Prime Minister of India.

He said that due to the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country was forging ahead on path of progress and prosperity. He said that today 21 states of the country had BJP led governments which speaks of the people’s support to the party. He said that the present state government soon after assuming office started working for the welfare of every section of the society and development of every area of the State.

Jai Ram Thakur said that law and order situation of the State was completely out of control during the tenure of the previous government. He said that the Gudiya episode had tarnished the image of the State and the officers of SIT constituted by the previous government were themselves behind the bars for alleged custodian death of a person arrested in this connection.

He said that the government had decided to use 15 per cent of the total offering of the temple for construction and maintenance of Gau Sadans in the State. He reminded the Opposition leaders opposing this decision of the State Government that during their tenure offerings of the temples were misused for purchasing luxury cars, air conditioners and mobile phones etc. He said that this speaks of the double face and standards of the Opposition leaders.

Jai Ram Thakur said that the State today had six medical colleges and now the government had decided to open a Medial University in the State to effectively manage these Medical colleges. He said that Medical College would also be opened at Hamirpur district soon. He said that the Union government had sanctioned 69 National Highways for the State. The previous government even failed to prepare DPRs for these national highways.

The Chief Minister was presented a cheque of Rs 5.25 lakh by the Industries Minister Bikram Singh towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund on the occasion. Others also made contribution towards the CMRF.

Chief Minister announced up-gradation of three rural roads to major district roads and providing rupees three crore for repair of existing roads around Sansarpur Terris. He announced Rs. 35 crore for improvement of water supply schemes for Rakkar Tehsil area under BRICS (World Bank Project), Rs. 63 crore for improvement of water supply scheme for Jaswan area under BRICS, Rs. 50 lakh for construction of Dada Sibba bus stand and Rs. 61.29 crore for construction of bridge on Swan river near Khanpur.

He announced opening of Health Sub Centre at Kroa, Saleti and Aloh, construction of labour rooms at CHC Dada Sibba, up-gradation of 30 bedded CHC Dada Sibba to 50 bedded Civil hospital, up-gradation of five health sub centers to primary health centers, creation of two posts of Radiologists for CHC Kasba Kotla and Puirsaluhi. He announced rupees one crore each for construction of Mini Secretariat buildings at Dada Sibba and Rakkar, opening of Pharmacy college at Kuhna (Rakkar) in Una district, Mode0l ITI at Sansarpur Terris. He announced Rs. 25 lakh each for maintenance of Dada Sibba and Dadoa heritage rest houses.

Later the Chief Minister laid foundation stone of Seul Khad-Dudki and Goraldhar to Nangal roads.

He also flagged off a bus service from Sansarpur Terris to Baddi.

 

Health and Family Welfare Minister Vipin Singh Parmar while addressing the gathering said that the State Government had initiated several welfare schemes for youth, farmers, employees and weaker sections of society. He said that the Union Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was committed to make India one of the most powerful and developed nation of the world. He said that soon after assuming power the present government launched Gudiya Helpline and Hoshiyar Singh helpline for safety of the women and to check illegal activities such as drug peddling, illegal mining and illegal felling.

Industries Minister Bikram Singh said that the people of the area had great expectation form the present State Government. He said that the area was completely ignored in matter of development by the previous government.

Member of Parliament Anurag Thakur said that Jaswan-Pragpur Assembly constituency was poised to become ideal assembly constituency of the State. He said that the previous government politicized the issue of Central University and tossed the issue between Dehra and Dharamshala. The present State government soon after holding the reins of the State had ensured that the Central University would soon become functional in a big way. He said that the AIIMS at Bilaspur, Central University, PGI Satellite Centre, India Institute of Information Technology, Medical College for Hamirpur were some of the Central gift to the Hamirpur Parliamentary constituency.  He said that 28 crore bank accounts had been opened in the country under Jandhan Yojna.

Food and Civil Supplies Minister Kishan Kapoor, Urban Development Minister Sarveen Chaudhary, MLA’s Ramesh Dhawala,  Hoshiyar Singh and Rajesh Thakur, former Minister Ravinder Ravi, former MLA’s Vijay Agnihotri, Dulo Ram and Naveen Dhiman, were also present on the occasion among others.
